These are fixed expressions.

Ein bißchen, ein wenig = etwas.

Ein paar = einige wenige = etliche

Indefinitpronomen etwas

Etwas is an indeclinable neuter. Etwas is used alone, or as attribute usually to a noun. Etwas is used for a thing not further defined, similarly as something. Examples:

usually only Sing. Maskul. Femin. Neuter

Comments

  1. jed-, jedermann means all beings or things of a whole set of beings or things. However, jedermann can be used only for persons. Negation: keiner, niemand .
  2. Following are illustrating examples of jed-.


  3. Let us compare the German definitions with those of Webster for American English.


  4. Emphasis is lent through the amplifier einzeln (en, e, es). Examples:


    Jed- is declined as adjectiv of Type III (mixed), when used in conjunction with ein-.

Jemand/niemand = someone/no one may be used undeclined. Examples:

However, undeclined use is not acceptable in the genitive case. Example:
