The grand and ancient Taragarh Fort is one of the major attractions for the visitors of India. This marvelous and primordial fort is located in the Bundi City which lies in the state of Rajasthan of India. This primeval palace of the ancient times is one of the most impressive structures of Rajasthan.

The grand Taragarh Fort is a kind of a ramshackle fort which is well enhanced with overgrown vegetation. This prehistoric monument is located at a distance of 39 kilometers from Kota. This grand monument was constructed in the 1354 AD. There are three major gates which are comprised up within this fort. These main gates are named as Gagudi ki Phatak, Lakshmi Pol and Phuta Darwaza. Today, the major section of these grand gates has been converted into ruins.

In the earlier times, the grand Taragarh Fort was very much renowned for its exotic and out of the ordinary tunnels which crisscrossed the entire hillside. Today, these grand tunnels are inaccessible. The fort is also well enhanced with some huge water reservoirs which were constructed in the earlier times to provide adequate amount of water to its residents during any natural calamity or disaster.

These large reservoirs were carved out from the rocky base of this primordial fort. There is also a small palace which is comprised within the complex of this fort. This small palace is also known as the Rani Mahal.
